aren’t these cute!  and they make great gifts, too!  (psst…i will tell ya a secret…they are super easy!!)  For the owl bookmark, all i did was use “punch bunch” set from stampin’ up! (which is only available till the end of march, so get it before it is gone!!).  i stamped the owl from the set in early espresso ink on whisper white cs and punched him out with the coordinating owl punch from stampin’ up!  then i punched out his vest with paper from dsp patterns regal collection from stampin’ up and punched a heart from some coordinating paper (i put some stickles on the heart to make it sparkle).  attach it all together and add googlie eyes, and don’t forget to make a second one for the back!  i used mini glue dots all over the back of one of the owls and on an extra large paper clip, then layered the glue-dotted owl, paper clip, and other owl and squeezed ( i also put a clothes pin on it to help mush it).  i did the same basic steps for the flower clips.  i used the “floral fusion” sizzlet from stampin’ up! and springtime vintage dsp from the occasions mini catalog, and of course some pearls and rhinestones for the bling factor!  Oh and don’t forget to curl your flower petals!

Hope you enjoyed and keep on stampin’!

step 1: pick your favorite ribbon, only ribbons that can fray will work

step 2: pull the first couple of threads from the end of the ribbon to fray

step 3: pull out one or two of the threads from the middle (i pulled the green ones)

step 4: pull the green threads SLOWLY and carefully to start scrunching the ribbon till about the middle

step 5: repeat the same steps from the other end and keep on scrunchin'!!

step 6: trim the loose threads and viola...pretty scrunched ribbon!!

so it may not look extreme, but i used the “extreme elements” set from stampin’ up! to make this card.  I used baja breeze for the background and layered crumb cake on top.  i rounded the bottom corners with my corner rounder punch.  i stamped off on the crumb cake cs with the splatter stamp in the extreme elements with crumb cake ink (stamping off is where you first stamp on a scrap piece of paper, then stamp on to your card).  i also stamped off with marina mist ink and another image from the same set  on to the crumb cake cs.  next i stamped thanks from the “thank you kindly” set in early espresso ink on crumb cake paper and punched out with my decorative label punch.  i matted it on to early espresso cs (see below on how-to or go to tips and techniques), added 2 pearls and used dimensionals to attach to card.  last i scrunch (see tips and techniques) the ribbon and attached it with snail adhesive.

super easy, super simple…if only life could be that way all the time!!

keep on stampin till next week!

ooh lala..i the love the en francais background stamp!  dont forget that sale-a-bration is over at the end of the month…so hurry and dont miss out on all your FREE stuff!

so for this fabulous (if i say so myself!!) card, i started with early espresso cs, then added pieces of paper from the elegant soiree dsp (i sponged the edges with early espresso ink) and attached to the card.  i used a piece of very vanilla grosgrain ribbon to cover the seam.  i stamped “thanks” from my FREE sale-a-bration set thank you kindly in early espresso ink.  i used fun flowers die from the occasions mini catalog and cut out the big flower in early espresso, the medium flower with a window sheet, and the small flower in baja breeze.  i sponged early espresso ink around the edges of the big flower, ran the little flower thru my perfect polka dot embossing folder and inked the edges with early espresso ink.  for the ooh la la, i stamped my en francais background stamp with staz on white ink on the window sheet flower.  pretty cool, huh!!!  (and for a little tip on using the background stamp, lay the stamp rubber side up, ink the stamp, place the paper you are stamping on top of the stamp.  using a scrap piece of paper, lay it on top of the paper to be stamped and run a bone folder over the whole surface, remove the scrap paper and lift the stamped image and voila!)  i layered the flower and added a brad from the antique brad set and used a stampin dimensional to attach to the card.

hope you enjoyed!

Whoo loves ya!!

even though it rained for most of the day, it was still warm!!  i will take what I can get!  yes i am going tim holtz style again (for all ya wondering, he is a pretty awesome guy who makes pretty awesome cards and stuff, but he never capitalizes in his blog…check him out www.timholtz.typepad.com).  so i received my FREE, yes FREE stamp set from stampin’ up!’s sale-a-bration…for every $50 you spend from stampin’ up!, you receive FREE stuff!  and there is no limit, spend $100, get two items FREE!  check out www.nicolemoyer.stampinup.net for all the details!   so back to the cards!

i used punch bunch stamp set from stampin’ up! (yes a FREE set) and stamped the owl in early espresso ink on whisper white cs.  then i punched out the owl with the coordinating two-step owl punch and punched out his vest from the green and white polka dot paper from the jolly holiday dsp.  i colored his beak with an orange colored pencil, glued on his vest and a heart (from the punch) and added some googly eyes (what fun)!! i used tempting turquoise cs, and layered chocolate chip cs that i stamped with itty bitty backgrounds (retired) in versa mark.  i stamped happy birthday from afterthoughts stamp set (hostess exclusive) in tempting turquoise ink on whisper white cs, cut out and layered on old olive cardstock that i punched with the scallop trim border punch.  i added that to the card and used dimensionals to attached the owl!  so owlin’ cute!!

did all the same as above, but used elegant eggplant, melon mambo and old olive cs,and elegant eggplant ink.  i stamped the flower from afterthoughts set in versa mark on the melon mambo cs and i also added some dazzling diamonds to the heart!  always need some bling bling!
